Openseespy on Mac

I can’t use Openseespy on my Mac (within VScode). The error "Failed to import openseespy on Mac.`’ How to overcome it, I got feeling you use Mac and Visual Studio Code as well.

Hey @Marcin_Karczmarczyk - check out my latest video, it covers my most up to date workflow for setting up an OpenSeesPy project in VSCode on my Mac…

Hi Sean, thanks for that - I didn’t get the idea of uv - very powerful, indeed. However it works fine on my Windows PC (I tried to make sure I am not totally stupid) but doesn’t on my Mac (M4 Pro with Tahoe 26.2). It may be to do with the processor but still installing openseespy-mac-arm==3.7.1.4 via uv add openseespy-mac-arm doesn’t help - I got long import error. I’ll switch to google lab which works if keen to sit with my superb Mac.

Google Colab is indeed a great cloud option - I’ve only recently started playing around with it myself…great for when IT departments panic about letting you install Python packages on company machines!
