Quick update on the new course - it’s progressing well. Writing a good text lecture (see my last post) to go with every video is slowing it down a little but I think it’ll be worth it in the end!
Got some nice modelling done this week - the GIF below shows one of the animations produced for a 2DoF shear building. This animation shows how modal superposition can be used to determine the structural response to a harmonic load at a frequency of 2pi.
You can clearly see strong resonance in mode 1 which makes sense when you note the modal frequency. We’ll be scaling this up to N-DoF in the course and then introducing ground motion. Lot’s of juicy modelling to come in this one.
That’s all for now. No release date just yet but I’ll keep you posted as the timeline firms up.
