The EngineeringSkills iOS app beta! 
After months of development I’m excited to share the EngineeringSkills app for iPhone and iPad. This thread is the home for all beta feedback…bugs, rough edges, ideas, and anything that just feels off.
About the beta
The beta is currently invite-only for EngineeringSkills members, with invitations going out to members by email. If you’ve received a TestFlight invitation, this thread is for you. For anyone not in the beta, the app is headed for the App Store, and I’ll announce it here and via email when it’s available to everyone.
What the app does
- Stream every course and project in the EngineeringSkills library, with previews free to browse
- Offline viewing — members can download lectures and watch anywhere (7-day offline window between sign-ins)
- Timestamped lesson notes that sync with the website
- Progress sync — lectures you complete on the web show in the app and vice versa
- Lecture resources (notebooks, files) straight to the Files app or AirDrop
- Lecture Q&A from our community forum, rendered right in the app
- Your certificates, background audio with lock-screen controls, Spotlight search, and more
How to give feedback
- Found a visual bug? Take a screenshot inside the app — iOS will offer “Share Beta Feedback”, which sends the annotated screenshot straight to me with your device details attached. The single most useful thing you can do.
- Crashes — TestFlight will offer to send a report; please do, with a line about what you were doing.
- Everything else — reply below. Most helpful format: what you did, what you expected, what happened instead, plus device model and iOS version. Screenshots welcome.
Thanks for helping shape this before it reaches the App Store, every piece of feedback helps. I’ll post here when new builds ship, with notes on what changed.
