3D Update to Truss Analysis with Python - coming soon

Morning members,

Just a quick update to let you know that I’m working on an update to ‘Truss Analysis using the Direct Stiffness Method in Python’. This will be an extra section that expands into 3D truss structures. The core code is written - just a matter of writing and recording some lectures to go with it now.

I’m also playing around with some open source 3D software (Blender) as a tool to easily generate and export 3D node coordinates and member definitions. This dramatically improves efficiency! Hopefully I’ll have a workflow that allows you to build models easily using blender and simply export their nodes and members to csv, to then import directly into your analysis notebook.

I’ll update further as this update moves towards completion.

All the best,
Seán
